The art of the smile
Aesthetic dentistry is any dental procedure that improves or enhances the appearance of a smile. Dr. Caughey creates healthy smile designs with respect to both form and function. Whether you hope to transform dulled, stained teeth to bright, eye-catching smiles; replace worn out, outdated mercury fillings; or reshape teeth with natural-looking veneers, we’re here to help.

What will my new smile look like?
Every smile is as unique as the person who wears it. Through a comprehensive smile analysis, Dr. Caughey designs a smile that best suits the individual patient. A series of careful facial measurements will help her create a smile that is in proportion to your bone structure, age and gender. Thanks to advances in computer technology, we are able to show you a digitally enhanced image of what your new smile could look like before you even begin the procedure.

What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility. When bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea or even cigarette stains. For strength and appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options.

What can you do about my dark silver fillings?

The use of silver-mercury fillings is now nearly obsolete. Our practice uses no silver mercury, and will be happy to assist you in replacing older, failing amalgam restorations. Today’s porcelain onlays and composite resins create fillings that are superior in both aesthetics and strength.

How can you replace my missing teeth?
Many options are available including bridges, implants or precision-fit dentures. There is no reason to live with missing teeth. Replacing missing teeth can add self-confidence and rejuvenate your smile. Also, reducing undue stress allows the natural teeth to last longer.
