Dr. Caughey believes young children should see a dentist by the age of 3. Ensuring that the primary teeth are coming in with the correct schedule and symmetry is important to the child’s overall development. A referral to a dental specialist (pedodontist) may be appropriate if the child’s needs are multi-faceted, but often the family dentist can provide the same care. We have found that introducing a child to the parent’s dentist can convey trust upon that dentist, and that the parent’s role in coaching will help a child embrace healthy oral hygiene habits from a very early age. Dr. Caughey can also provide restorative and orthodontic treatment if necessary. The focus for our youngest patients is the same for adults — we strive to provide education and support to help all our patients achieve optimal oral health.
Dr. Caughey has proudly participated in "Give Kids a Smile" — a local Sandy Springs outreach programs for kids at Ison Elementary to promote dental health to the community.
“She truly values her client relationships as a life-long collaboration; one of continual vigilance to improve the overall oral health of her customer.”
