Patient Financing
Most of our patients tell us they want dentistry that is done right
the first time. They want the longest lasting, most dependable, most comfortable,
and most attractive treatment they can have. That’s also what we see
as the best, and in the long run, the most economical dentistry.
Dental insurance differs greatly from medical
insurance. While medical insurance has nearly unlimited lifetime
coverage after meeting the co-pay or deductible, most dental plans
have a very
low annual maximum benefit, which has not increased since their
inception in the early 1970’s. However, inflation has caused an increase
in related fees, such as lab fees, dental supplies, and labor costs – even
the cost of your annual insurance premium.
The benefits purchased for you were based on the amount your employer budgeted
for buying insurance – not on your needs or the needs of others on
the plan. No one from the insurance company checked your teeth, or asked
you what kind of dental health was important to you. That’s okay.
That’s our job.
We want to assure you that in this practice we will always make recommendations
based on what we believe to be the best for you; never on what your policy
covers.
We will help you to understand the existing conditions of your mouth, how
they occurred, and what you can do about them. We’ll talk with you
about options and help you understand the implications of choices you make.
We encourage you to look at dental insurance as an aid in achieving your
goals. Dental insurance was never designed to pay for everything everyone
in the plan might want; only to defer some of the cost of some of the treatment
its customers might choose.
Can I continue to use my dental insurance?
While Dr. Caughey’s office does not participate with any insurance
plans, her team will be happy to submit for you any insurance paper work
at the time of treatment.
Why won’t my insurance pay for my treatment plan?
Dr. Caughey has invested in a significant amount of continuing education
and technology, ensuring that you will receive the best care available
in modern dentistry. We believe you deserve the best health care available.
That may mean a more expensive procedure that will actually conserve natural
tooth structure and last far longer than the cheaper alternative.
How can I make my treatment more affordable?
Because dental insurance most likely doesn’t meet your dental needs
and usually does not cover cosmetic procedures, we offer many financial
arrangements that can help you achieve your treatment goals. By making
arrangements in advance, you can spread out your payments for up to five
years, making
your treatment affordable. For information on patient financing please
